Mr. Berman was nominated by Sprint® for the Ernst & Young "Entrepreneur of the Year Award" for a technology incubator he founded in 1999 and took public in 2000. Mr. Berman has numerous successful entrepreneurial ventures throughout his 30 year career.

At the age of 23, he started his first venture which was financing business startups. In the mid 1980’s before he was 30, he had a vision of bringing wind energy to California. Not only was he a co-founder of the San Gorgonio Wind Energy Association, he also co-founded or purchased several companies within the industry including a NASD licensed broker dealer, a licensed construction company and a manufacturing facility which in a few short years employed over 100 staff.

Mr. Berman has beneficially owned 50% or more of two NASD licensed broker dealers. In that capacity as well as a corporate officer and as a consultant Mr. Berman has been involved in the capital raising for several companies and their ultimate public status.

Recently, Mr. Berman is the author of the Aggressive Wealth® Financial Empowerment Program. With over 3,000,000 CD’s in circulation, he is also the author of the book, “I Got Here. You Can Too!”®, which is a book on how to start, fund and run companies with over 500,000 copies in print. Mr. Berman continues to demonstrate his skills at direct marketing and building businesses.

Josh Berman

Mr. Berman is the Vice President of PrepaYd, Inc. and the founder of PrepaYd Wireless. In 2011, Mr. Berman performed the research and development for the prepaid Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) business model and created the PrepaYd Wireless business plan, negotiated contracts with Sprint, Emida and other key strategic vendors while executing the deployment of the company’s online and retail distribution plan. He conceptualized the idea of launching PrepaYd Wireless and coined the name “PrepaYd” during his travels to Australia in 2010 after observing several retail stores selling both prepaid wireless and prepaid debit cards.

In 2008, Mr. Berman started his career with Bank Freedom in Customer Service and quickly became a project manager where he implemented several of the companies General Purpose Reloadable, Payroll, and its Business Expense Card. He has created several of the company’s business plans, financial models, dispute and chargeback policies, fraud monitoring system, BSA/AML policies, and operations procedures. Since 2009, Mr. Berman has been involved with adding new Payment Processors, Issuing Banks, Fulfillment Vendors, Cash Loading Networks, a Mobile Banking Application, and an SMS Mobile Payment product. Mr. Berman currently oversees the development of the company’s Mobile Financial Services initiative and in deploying new features for the company’s Business Expense Card Program.

Mr. Berman attended the Richmond American International University in London and San Diego State University and in 2008 he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics.

Nilanka Hettiarachchi
Vice President of Information Technology

Mr. Hettiararchi has been with Bank Freedom since 2010 and has been actively involved in integrating with our payment processors, issuing bank, VPN Connections, our marketing vendors, and in maintaining PCI Level 1 Compliance. Since his tenure at Bank Freedom, he has implemented a real-time verification system for new Card Accounts, a retail cash locator application, security controls compliant with PCI-DSS Standards, an online reporting website, disaster recovery system, and several other automated controls.

Mr. Hettiararchi has been critical on launching PrepaYd Wireless. He has created the company's custom online shopping cart, integrating with our MVNE, Sprint, and telecommunications systems. Mr. Hettiararchi has developed a web replenishment system, two online CRM portals to support subscribers and dealers, an online activation portal, and an extranet system for the company.

William E. Bateman III
Vice President of Marketing PrepaYd, Inc.

In early 2011, Mr. Bateman started his career with PrepaYd Inc by marketing business expense solutions. Mr. Bateman studied and gained extensive knowledge of most every aspect of the company including: Gathering data from infrastructural stage, contractual phases, marketing implementation and product deployment

Mr. Bateman’s background includes being top sales person (out of 2,500 sales professionals) and key note speaker @ the NW convention for Destiny Telecom which later sold to MCI who later bought Sprint. He has organized, funded and appeared as a speaker @ over 150 sales seminars, community events, political luncheons and lobbyist events along with state senators and top area businessmen and women. Mr. Bateman played a key marketing role for E-media Safe Networks (a firm that pioneered encryption technology) in the infancy stages of the launch of the internet. Mr. Bateman will use his vast experience to penetrate the targeted marketplace for PrepaYd Inc.

Mr. Bateman has studied Business management @ Clark College and Political Science @ Columbia Basin College. He has completed extensive training courses in Marketing, Event Coordination and Sales training. He’s a past member of WAMB, WSNA, APSA, DMA, BIAW, PDC, NAMB, OAMB and CAMB associations as well as multiple chambers of commerce.
